AATRV Audition 2018

An audition for an online comic tournament known as Artists at the Ready, featuring characters and plot of my own creation.

A lot of prep work went into this comic, from conceptualizing the characters that would be used, tumbnailing, and the creation of detailed reference sheets that opponents could use to correctly portray the characters I had created.

The link to the fist page of the comic can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/elforgotten/art/AATRV-00-00-725402349

The final cover image for the short audition comic I made for the tournament, meant to set the tone of the entire work going forward as a intense start to a journey, with two heroes and an apparent villain as the main cast.

The original cover image, before the villain character, Lancove, was changed out for Neapin. Some of the cover was salvaged for the final iteration with some minor changes.

Originally the characters that where intended to be used in the comic where Morph, Broken, and a man named Lancove, who was later switched out for Neapin in favor of more interesting potential battle sequences and plot development later in the tournament.

Concepts for possible outfits for the character Morph. There was some time spent debating what would be a good look for the tone I was going for, ranging from a laid back, oversized hoodie to a more formal appearance.
